My SL-1300 came with a Stanton 681(EE?) which was always leaning to the side. When I replaced the stylus recently I took the plastic “washer” from one side to the other to try and balance it out but it’s still noticeable. Is there anything I can do with the metal ears themselves? I’m not sure which one is higher/lower than factory and I don’t wanna have it end up sitting at the incorrect height.

Don't overthink it. Those "ears" are easy to bend so just bend them back. Don't remove the cartridge, do it while on the headshell. They don't look far off and as long as you get the body perpendicular to the headshell or, better yet, the cantilever perfectly straight and perpendicular to the record. If you have an alignment tool with mirror it makes it easy to see.

They are designed to be adjusted by bending. Just do it slowly when you can sit down and do it carefully. You don't want to bend it any farther than you need to.
So it really was that easy, I've got it set up as straight as I think I'm gonna get it and aligned with the overhang gauge so it looks like I'm good to go. I was worried it was just gonna be stuck like that cause I didn't wanna go breaking any metal pieces.
