Star Trek: The Experience Las Vegas Closing - going to the closing ceremony

Hi all,

My family and I (or is it the other way around) are big Star Trek fans and have recently attended ST:TE in August when we heard it was closing. By a most fortuituous route, we were introduced to some of the folks who manage the attraction and we'll be leaving in a couple of hours to go back to Las Vegas to be part of the Decommissioning Ceremony on Monday night, Sept. 1.

If you have never been, or you're just a closet Trekker, there's info about it at:

www.startrekexp.com

and a recent national news story:

http://www.usatoday.com/travel/destinations/2008-08-29-las-vegas-star-trek_N.htm?csp=34

I know there will be throngs of people there. I'll try to upload some photos as I get them. If you see our family (Asian, Lessa in her wheelchair), root all of us on as we close this most unique attraction and inside look at Star Trek.

If you can make it to San Diego, Star Trek: The Exhibition (formerly The Tour) is at the Balboa Park Air and Space Museum through the end of the year. Arguably more museum stuff and a couple of simulator rides, but not the special effects/sets/alien cast of Experience.

Regards,

Bart
