Star Treks worth avoiding......

IHMO they all had their positives and negatives:
TOS - Hokey at times but had some great stories and writers
NG - First season was pretty bad but got much better thereafter
DS9 - Did not like the endless story arcs that forced you to watch every episode to keep up but otherwise good
VG - Overall good
ENT - Did not like it when first aired but am enjoying reruns now

I still like TOS the best, if for nothing more than it started it all.

I actually didn't dislike Enterprise, but did not ever finish the whole series, but not because I hated it.

I despised TNG...at the time I missed Kirk's "Shoot first, then negotiate" rather than Picards "All problems are solved by diplomacy" approach. I also despised any episode that had to do with the holodeck "make believe."

Just my opinion.

Wil Wheaton.
Only mentioning because, well, Wesley Crusher.

I was actually surprised to realize I still really dislike him however many years on...even as a bad guy in "Dark Matter", which is basically an "ur-Star Trek".
Not exactly a spoiler since the end of the series is notorious, but just thought I'd add that "Dark Matter", whatever you may think of it, will only disappoint since it ends in a total cliffhanger....and there is no, and presumably never will be, another season.

yes, Dark Matter was a good show. The only bad part was Wheaton showing up. Well that and the cliffhanger ending. It was worse than how Firefly was handled.

A lot of shows seem fond of introducing an annoying character. I think Wesley was more annoying than typical just because his character was written as the super kid that was always going to save the day from the dumb adults. I'm really not a big fan of that sort of character, kid or not.

Interestingly, the TNG movies are free on YT. I liked First Contact a lot. I'm trying to get through Generations and Nemesis.
