Just 8 OHMs. I have a meter but no real knowledge of how to use it. I can check with a buddy. Maybe we can get a reading at each end of one of them. Thanks for the reply.

Those may well be L-Pads instead of potentiometers. In that case, the replacement is an 8 Ohm L-Pad.

But seriously, those are L pads if, as it appears, they have three wires. You do not want to remove the front covers, even if you could. Typically, they have air vents on the back cover into which you can squirt Deoxit or tuner cleaner spray. Also, those back covers are soft metal and it's pretty easy to pry up the tabs slightly with a jeweler's screwdriver and thereby remove the caps for cleaning.
All else fails, Parts Express sells new ones.

Okay L-pads, 8 Ohms. How would I determine the amperage? They have 1 inch shafts. I am assuming they are mono. I will try to take one apart.
I am refurbishing these speakers. The controls for the midrange and tweeter are bad. I'd like to fix them or get "new" ones. They are 8 Ohm. I cannot get the tiny C clip off the post and I am not sure that would give me access to try some deoxit anyway. Can anyone advise me? I think these speakers are really great sounding and if I can they will be great back ups for my current speakers.
I realize it’s an old post but am currently having the same issue. Was wondering how you made out and if you got new loads what the value was?
