After the overwhelming amount of response and help in regards to my thread looking for junk tubes I decided to post this and give a little back

If any of you AK members out there like Steampunk art, repurposed tube art etc please by all means pm me, or post here your ideas or things you would like built. We would be more than happy to try to bring your ideas to fruition and send the finished project to you!

Current projects include the Tesla Gun from Warehouse13, A steampunk nuclear reactor ipod charger with lit tube that plugs into the wall, Tube nightlights, a Ray gun/rifle, and usb flash drive in a tube.

I get a kick out of the films of Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Delicatessen, City Of Lost Children, Alien Resurrection). Does that count?:D

projects we are in the process of getting rolling. The charger uses the same schematic for a tube nightlight but incorporates the usb from a iphones wall charger. The intention is to have a decent size tube standing out from the top, aluminum heatsink peices from a cpu, coppor thin tubing laced around, a few brass peices etc so it will basically look like some sort of 1940s style contraption that plugs into the wall, looks cool, and charges things lol

I am currently finishing up steampunk kitchen lights and a steampunk style range vent.

I'll post photos when done. NO COPYING.

Minimally related, hope you don't mind, you may enjoy seeing this:

I thought this was a sweet and very clever idea, a Lullaby Factory next to a Children's Hospital in England. It plays songs for them, and they even have a transmitter so the children can tune it in on a radio in their room.

Take care,

That sounds incredibly cool!

I can not wait to get rolling on all of these. Not just the tubes either, I bought a buyout or whatever you call it on some newly made vintage style lightbulbs I am planning on building some steampunk style desk lamps etc out of as well. Once we get enough stuff together we are going to get rolling and get some pics out there. Jessie is working on a kitten made of SS and watch parts right now.
