Stereo Exchange auction in Manhattan - March 22nd

Did anyone go to this? I had planned to, but then realized I had a parent teacher conference :(

Wondering if they had any Mac disc players?

Considered going but never made it. Vinyl LP lots seemed interesting at first, as I figured they'd be unsold audiophile records, but pics on the site showed they were used LPs that were still being sold for $2-$3 in the final days of the store. Things were being sold there heavily discounted until 1 day before the auction, so I'm thinking it's unlikely many gems were left to bid on.

One of the guys in my Friday group went, but only stayed for an hour. Some of the stuff went relatively high, but there were a lot of giveaways too. A lucky guy got a 42" demo TV for $20, and Totem speakers that are $950 a pair list went for $150 and $200, stuff like that. I'll bet those who stayed until the end really cleaned up on some of the stuff.

I'm seeing a few pairs of "NIB!" Totem Rainmakers on NYC CL for $600-$750

Really? What a surprise.

If I were into that sort of thing, I would have bought up the giant spools of high-end cable, cut them into standard lengths, terminated them with good-quality gold-plated spades or bananas, and sold them gradually on eBay or Audiogon. Easy to ship, a stock item, price 'em right and they'll move.
