Stereotech 1200 MPX lamp

I am currently restoring a nice StereoTech 1200 receiver. The only nagging problem I have run into is the MPX lamp. According to the SM, this is a 28 volt 60 ma bulb. The AFC bulb is the same and is functioning correctly, but I am not seeing anything close to 28v as I tune the FM band. Also, I am not quite sure where to get the replacement bulb. Any ideas? Perhaps the transistor that switches it has gone.
