Greeting,
I have some 70's subs which are extremely fast. Now after all of these years they are bottoming out much earlier than before. After countless close observations. I have concluded that this is due to the spiders loosing a good amount of what damping resistance they once had. Which now allows the drivers to bottom much eariler. Nothing seems to have changed other than the doping that once stiffened the spiders. So my question is what can be physically applied to restiffen these exhausted vintage spiders? I'm sure that a specific compound must exist for this sole purpose. What compound are they treated with when produced new?
Any ideas on what compounds were used?
Thanks,
Linh
