Streaming audio quality with various methods

Network receivers have the ability that allows you to stream audio directly, providing that they support the particular streaming service, such as Pandora or Spotify.

There are other devices such as blu-ray players, Grace digital & other audio streaming devices such as the Phorus wifi audio receiver which enable you to stream audio.

Aside from the various DACs in these devices, is there one method of streaming which would provide the best audio quality?

Thanks.

You are mixing two "streamings". One thing is Internet radio service like Pandora or Spotify. There is no I real difference between players, they just should support a particular provider's service. Other thing is sending asudio stream from player to a renderer. Food that your can use one of several infrastructures like DLNA, Plex, Chromecast etc. For this key thing is support of lossless bit perfect streams and capability to work with audio formats other than CD quality (24/96, 24/192, DSD etc.).

I would like to know if streaming Pandora digitally through a blu-ray player is any better or worse, audio-quality wise, than if I were to stream Pandora thru the receiver's built-in network. Both the receiver and the blu-ray player have R45 jacks for ethernet, and I have both plugged into my router. Again, is there any advantage, audio-quality wise, of either method?

Should be no difference. Unless one of devices needs paid account. There is a difference in quality of streaming between paid and free accounts.

Understood. Paid accounts deliver better mp3 audio.

Thanks for the comment. I figured it "ought" to be the same either way, but was wanting to know what others thought.
