Stripping old tape

Hi guys,
I've used the search with no luck, so I have to ask! What's the best way to strip unwanted tape from a 10"reel? I've stripped a 7" reel and I came away thinking there's got to be a better way! Would someone point me in the right direction?

Tie one end to the bumper and head to town!

Spool it onto a metal reel with removable flanges, then remove the flanges and dump it in the trash. I keep a metal reel with one flange removed for just such a purpose, easy peasy!

Off-topic, since I'm talking about 7", not 10", but I felt quite clever sucking the tape into my vacuum cleaner. It took it as fast as the deck could fast-unwind it. Goodbye, spliced-up SSS!
