Stuck motor pulley set screw - DUAL 1219

Any suggestions on how to unstick the set crew on the motor pulley on a DUAL 1219 motor? I am talking about the main set screw, not the inner height adjustment set screw. I have tried WD40 and some 10W/40 to no affect. Thanks!

I should have done that. Trying once more with a screwdriver, the set screw snapped. I didn't think I was applying that much force. I may try the heat method to see if I can get the pulley off the shaft with the set screw in. Any thoughts on how to get out the broken set screw? FYI, I do have a parts unit, but I would like to salvage this motor.

Yeah. I will see if I can use the tiny ball head grinder on my Dremel to get enough of a groove back in the screw to get it out. Already did a little. I know it will be tricky to do that and not mess up the threads on the pulley, although the motor is the priority.

If you screw the pulley up ---no problem I have a spare.
Just be careful when you get around the motor shaft.

Maybe cold. Chill down the entire assembly in the freezer, see if the parts shrink enough to make a difference. If not then apply heat near the set screw. You might get lucky.

Barring that I'd try and grind a small divot in the set screw as a guide for a drill, then drill it out. (assuming the set screw isn't hardened)
