Studer, Ampex and McIntosh

Usually the University surplus has old VCRs and such. This is a bit of a surprise. Not my sale. No idea if the price is legit, I just enjoy looking at the pics. I'm trying to figure out which dept. on campus would have had this equipment.

Inventory includes Studer A80-VUII analog tape recorder, Studer A80 analog tape recorder, Studer B67 analog tape recorder, Ampex ATR100-4 analog tape recorder, Ampex 440C analog tape recorder, McIntosh MC2505-2 Stereo Power Amplifier, and McIntosh MC2505-2 Stereo Power Amplifier.

There is also a Martin Varispeed III, an assortment of remote controls and manuals (appears to be 4 remotes; unsure which Studer unit is missing one), and some Ampex and Studer parts (unknown condition). One of the Ampex machines has 2 Dolby Model 361 units attached to it

Apparently the University has a department responsible for recording on-campus concerts. I'm guessing they upgraded to all digital. I'd bet that McIntosh gives a healthy educational discount for school purchases as well.

You may be on to something swechsler. They just opened the new school of music this year, after the flood of 2008 wiped out most of the arts/music campus. It could have also been from the old Hancher Auditorium that was also destroyed in the flood (and it's new version was built and just opened this year).
