Studio Monitors to use with Nuforce Icon 2 Amp

Hi All

Any suggestions for some desktop studio monitors to use with a Nuforce Icon 2. Something that will work equally well with a Rega Turntable as with Digital Sources?? Equally happy with vintage or new but would like to keep budget in the $200-$300 range.

Thanks

I'd suggest the JBL LSR305 which is a powered monitor. Easily found for well within your budget and Mass Drop has their matched piano-black pair of LSR30x for sale right now for $179/pair. Use your Line-Out direct to the LSRs and you'll be amazed.

You really suggest that I buy powered units when I already have an amp. What is the advantage of this?

Thanks

Any thoughts on this as I am keen to ID something suitable??
Look at musicdirect.com they have several terrific speakers that fit your needs (all passive) such as Wharfedale Diamond 10.1's, Diamond 10.2's, Diamond 210's, Diamond 220's, ELAC Debut B5, Debut B6, KEF Q100's. All of these are under $300 and some are even under $200. Any of these should provide more than satisfactory performance and represent a great value. :)

I really like coaxial speakers for desktop use, such as KEF. Point source really shines nearfield. If Kefs are too big for your desk, I used to own a pair of Centrance 2504 which were really nice, and compact.
