Stuffing the box ???

What's the current wisdom regarding stuffing speaker boxes ???? I am working on a little project involving a pair of RS MC1000 boxes (small, sealed 8" two way type) and someone had stuffed them with fiberglass filler (probably not OEM). Should I leave it in the finished product or leave it out??? I recall reading that in some instances the stuffing helps but don't recall the specific info. Thanks guys....

Increased stuffing (for sealed enclosures) helps control standing waves inside the enclosure and also increase effective volume decreasing the overall Q which should offer an improvement in transient response. In theory, complete stuffing could increase the internal effective volume by up to 20~25%

Try them with and without the extra stuffing and let yourself be the judge of what you prefer best.
