Stylus? Cartridge? Or new TT?

I have a Technics SL-BD27 that came with my old system. Never used it (no vinyl). Sat in a cabinet for the last 22 years. Just got a Pio SX-737 and was hoping to fire it up and spin some vinyl I've been picking up in anticipation. No go. The stylus is MIA.

Is this TT worth the $$ for a new one? Or, are there complete, better cartridges compatible with it for less than $30? Or, can I score a good TT for about $50 without hunting or then having to refurb?

If you are wanting a good cartridge, you will need to spend more than $30. If you find a table for $50, more than likely it will need a lot of work. I am not familiar with the SL-BD27 but it seems to be a belt drive.

Assuming the table is in good condition and you just want something to play your records on, then definitely yes....it's worth getting a cartridge, and I would agree with BobinOKC re the AT92E. Good budget cartridge and since it's a P-mount, very easy to install with no guesswork.
