stylus ideas - Pickering V15, med mass arm, suspended platter

Why is this thread tagged as "non audiophile?" These cartridges with the right audiophile styli like the D-AME-2/3 or the D-AM-2/3 sound and perform demonstrably better than many accepted "audiophile" cartridges.

Point taken. And I'm glad that you mentioned it.

Use of the tag wasn't intended as disparaging. Just asking folks for input in piecing together a modest home stereo. Probably could've done better making it clear that the stylus / cartridge / table / system is for someone that loves music and records, without being particularly interested in audio gear. Ease of use and reliability essential... transcription type reproduction, tweakability, etc less so. Hence the earnest use of "non-audiophile" tag.

FWIW, I fully expect the system to perform well, and sound good, if properly located and set up. I'll be especially happy, though, if its' owner gets to enjoy her record collection for a solid several-year stretch -- without system tuning, unobtanium-related service issues, or other fuss.

(yes, I'm making fun of myself there)
