Stylus pressure gauge - recommendations?

I am looking for a stylus pressure gauge that will measure anywhere from less than a gram to over 4 grams (my older turntables are meant to track heavier than newer machines, but I want to be able to use the gauge with lighter tracking machines if I ever get one). I bought one of the inexpensive digital units on EBay, but when it arrived in today's mail it was DOA and I messaged the seller to try to get a refund. I have an old Aiwa PG-21, but it is a bit of a pain to use, in my opinion (or maybe my Janglish instructions aren't very clear). Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced stylus pressure gauge that ISN'T junk, that will measure in the range I am looking for?

Like I said, the Chinese unit I bought was DOA, so I am having trouble trusting the ultra-cheapies. Aren't there any manual/mechanical ones available that are easy to use, that will measure over 3g force?

Yes, just noticed your response in that thread. Well, sorry about that. It really sucks waiting all that time and getting a dud... What was wrong with it?
Anyway, for that price you can just afford to buy three and hope one arrives good.

It will not power up at all. Installed the batteries (and yes, they are in correctly), pushed the power button...nothing. Pressed and HELD the power button...nothing. Checked to make sure the battery contacts were MAKING contact, and tried again...nothing.

I agree with tnsilver. You got a dud. It happens. LOTS of people receive ones that work fine. I bought one and it lasted a few years before it took a dump. I bought another, and have had it for a few years now. For the price, which isn't much more than what JUST THE BATTERIES cost, I'd just order another one (or a couple) without a second thought. I opted to pay an extra buck or two and bought from a US seller, so I didn't have to wait forever on shipping from China.

Amazon, quick shipping, many of the digital ones available for less than $15. I got one for $11, two day prime shipping, a year ago that has been excellent. No better way to go.
