Stylus Replacement for Stanton L720EE

Greetings fellow AK’ers

I just bought a technics SL-D303 and it came with a Stanton L720EE Carr but no stylus.

Any recommendations on a good replacement?

By the way, the connecting pins on the back of the cart look a bit dirty (or burnt?) is there any way to make sure the cartridge works before I spend on a stylus?

You can still find original Stanton D71EE styli at reasonable prices-- so no need to settle for an aftermarket replacement. The pins are just oxidized- a very common issue. I clean them using the mini Dremel rotary tool. You can easily check for coil continuity using the ohms function of a multimeter.

Some p-mount options are: Stanton D70E, Stanton D71EE, Pickering DE, Pickering DLE.
Those provide a good mix between a more 'modern' tone along with that Stanton/Pickering 'authority'.

However, If you can adjust the VTF on your tonearm, there are many more options: any Pickering V15 stylus will fit fine.
I am a fan of this cartridge body and really enjoy the vintage tone of the older heavy-trackers like the Pickering DAT/DAC series.
