The AT3600L is a nice cartridge for one with a conical stylus. The turntable looks to be a modest SL1200 clone and can probably take a more upmarket cartridge but nothing too extravagant. You could try the AT-VM95E or AT-VM95EN which have elliptical styli and are about the best value in the budget market.

No, you need to go higher than that, in the range 2.5-3.5g, so 3g would be about right.

I bought an audio-technica ATN 3600L stylus and I can't attach it to the cartridge. It is the same as the one previously in the cartridge but when I try to fit it into the cartridge it does not fit and falls. I bought this stylus because the other one broke. I send photos of the two stylus, the new one and the one that is broken and also the cartridge..Could it be a cartridge or stylus defect? It's just that the stylus is exactly the same and the stylus that is broken fits well and the new one doesn't. What cartridge can I buy for this one to use with this stylus?

I remember struggling to get the AT3600L stylus off and on. It isn't the easiest stylus to change and can take quite some effort. You have to get it to click into place. This video shows how you must slot the plastic guide on the stylus into the groove on the cartridge body and then press the front of the stylus into place.

I'm glad you eventually got the stylus fitted. This lateral tilt is called an azimuth error. It is quite common with budget turntables made in the modern era. The reason is probably that the guide pin on the headshell connector is not exactly in the 12 'o'clock position. It may alternatively be because the guide slot in the arm is not in this position. A small azimuth error may not noticeably affect the sound, particularly with a conical/spherical stylus, but can look unsightly. Yours looks quite marked and should really be corrected. I have done this before by inserting a tiny washer on one of the screws between the headshell and cartridge body. If you can see that the problem is with the guide pin on the headshell, a new headshell would be another solution, hoping that you are lucky enough to get one with the guide pin in the correct position.

I have a feeling the headshell might be crooked. Even with the headshell off the arm it appears to be crooked. But I firmly tightened the headshell to the arm. But as soon as possible I will check again and take pictures of the headshell. Just one more question: if it's the headshell which headshell should i buy? I don't want anything too expensive just that it's compatible with the turntable. Many years ago I had a turntable but it was very simple and I never had problems of this kind.

Any standard SME-mount, Technics SL1200-style headshell will work. The American Audio ones (about $22) work fine for me.

When you take the headshell off the arm, check whether the guide pin on top of the connector really is on top and pointing vertically upwards.

There is usually a little lateral room for maneuver when the guide pin goes into the slot in the arm - that is, before tightening the collar. So you could see whether there is any scope for at least partial correction that way.

Regarding a replacement, I would go for a branded headshell rather than a generic one. The AT-HS1 might be worth a try - I have one example of this model and it seems to be good quality, although there is no guarantee that it will be perfect.

Looking at the Headshell from the top, you can see that it is slightly tilted to the right, at least that's what it seems to me. I underlined in red this photo that I took from above because you can see that extension of the piece while on the other side you can't see it. It really looks like it's crooked. But I can't know if it's actually the Headshell or the arm that are faulty. I lack certainties.

Yes, the second photo suggests that the problem is in the arm, with the top guide slot not being at the 12 'o'clock position. That is very shoddy manufacture. I think it is possible to remedy this issue yourself but I have never done it and I imagine it to be fiddly. There is a small screw on the underside of the arm just behind the connector. I believe that if you loosen this screw, you can rotate the connector until the slot is at the top. I suggest you start a new thread to ask for advice about this adjustment, as other people might be able to offer more guidance - perhaps a thread with title "Correcting azimuth error on S-shaped arm".

I also think the problem may be in the arm. Now maybe try to loosen the screws that are on the underside of the arm. But they are in a somewhat inaccessible position and I have no key to unscrew them without damaging them. I will follow the recommendation and make a thread to ask for advice on this adjustment.

Hello. I managed to solve the problem! I managed to find a wrench to unscrew the screws that are under the arm, and then I put the headshell back on and in the end I tightened the screws again. The headshell was straight and then I put a disk to try it and noticed the difference for the better! I send photos to see the differences. Please let me know if you see anything wrong with the photos. But I think it's okay. A big thank you to everyone who helped me solve this problem!

Very good. There looks to be a lot of dust on the stylus while playing. You need to keep the stylus clean and make sure you clean your records before use.
