Sub recommendation for Mcintosh Pre/Amp JBL L100

Happy holidays,

I was looking to incorporate a sub into my system which consists of C500/MC452 with JBL L100 Classic speakers. I was looking at 1x SVS SB4000 as it falls within my budget. I was wondering if MC users out there may have a recommendation or two...I understand, I may be better suited to pose the question on a JBL forum, but thought to give this a shot. thanks in advance.

Maybe you can find a pre-owned JL sub that will work too. SVS website recommends one of their 2000 series subs. But your choice gives you a greater margin.

Check out a REL, I am using a S812 with my Mac amp and it intergrates seamlessly.
I was looking for a dealer to ck out some options- I have not seen any good RELs on the secondary market close by. Right now, I have a choice between 1xJL Audio Fathom 113v2 or pick up 2x SVS SB3000s or 4000's. The 4000's may be too big for me.

I wound up buying 2x SVS SB3000S. Figured 2 is better than 1. So far everything is syncing well, but playing around with positioning.

I prefer two subs also. But I always one woofer to each channel. I don't like one sub for stereo systems. Seems to make the woofer bass sounds to dry. Especially with large classical performances from a Symphony or pipe organ. For HT systems such as 7.2 you get the flattest smoothest response thru-ought the room with two speakers

I'm waiting to listen to my six week old Classics in a room that will support those bottom octaves. How big is your room?
