I subscribed to AK a few days ago,payment has gone through but it still shows me as only a member.Is this common?Maybe I just no seeing anything different as being a subscriber.

You may have "donated" instead of subscribed.

Put your cursor on their name and left click. There will be several options, one of which is "send a Private Message". (PM)
