Subwoofer Decision

Finally got my system close to what I've heard in other good systems.
This is what I'm running
WiiM Ultra
Music Hall 25.2
Home brew Marantz Model 7 Clone
DBX 234s active crossover
M&K V90 subwoofer x 2
SEP mono blocks harvested from Akai R to R
Altec Lansing Model 17
Altec 604 8k
Technics SL7
Dynakit pas three phono stage
Oppo BDP 103D cd player
System sounds great other than the subwoofers are inadequate. I bought them to experiment. I've never been a sub guy but these little subs sound pretty damn good until I turn up the volume.
I'm going to buy a or a couple of subs that can keep up and fill a 6000 cf room.
The subs will fit under the equipment cabinet center stage between the Altecs.
I understand the concept of two but that gets expensive . Other than the WiiM I've cobbled the system from the used market. I haven't seen a used pair of subs come up for sale so I'm looking at the new market.
I found a Yamaha powered 18" pro sub open box at Guitar Center. I'm trying to talk myself out of it but the price is right and maybe I could get away with just one.

The M&K V90 was a fine sub back in the day. By todays standards it is underpowered at only 90 watts.

Pro subs are probably not considered the most musical and tend to not dig deeper than 40-50Hz. Pro speakers are designed with 'sound reinforcement' in mind, not pinpoint accuracy.

The ones I'm considering are rated to 32hz
Are all pro subs sub par sounding in a large home system. I've run large format Altec Mataram horns in this room and they sounded like a live show.

Anyone running large pro subs with good results?
Good results for what? Lots of punch and slam and volume I'd say yes. For really low bass, not so much but examples do exist like some specialty units from Danley and probably others.
