I've just recently acquired a Prima Luna Dialogue Premium intergrated amplifier. It does have a sub out single rca output on the back. I'm connecting it to a Polk DSW Pro 660wi subwoofer.
My issue is if I use the single(mono) sub out from the PL to the Polk line in LFE, I would have to set the LFE button on for the Polk, which then disables the Low Filter Pass Control. As most AV receivers have crossover controls, this would not be an issue... but the PL is strictly a 2 channel integrated w/ no tone controls...nor any control of the sub out.
so my questions are....
1-what frequency does the PL send to the Polk? like from 120hz down? I've sent PL and email, but was wondering if anyone on AK knows....
2-and would this not overlap frequency output from the mains and my sub as my speakers(Boston Acoustics T1030 get down to 40hz) and thus cause too much bass?
3- alternatively, can I safely hook up a rca y splitter( single male to 2x female) out of the PL sub out .... into the 2 Polk line in jacks.... thus leaving the LFE off and then able to use the Polk's Low Filter Pass Control?
4- does splitting the signal out of an RCA output jack adversely affect the signal in terms of quality, volume, etc? any crazy wiring issues I should be alerted to? dont' really want to damage any of the components....
Thanks in advance to any and all replies!!!
