Subwoofer output very low using line level but works great with high level ???

Mystery

constantly upgrading...
I have a DCM TB1010 subwoofer and it works great with plenty power at 12 O'clock using speaker level inputs but when using RCA line level inputs, it's not even normal loud at full level on the plate amp.

What's going on? :scratch2:

Sounds to me like the signal strength from your preamp/subwoofer out isn't doing the job. Not enough voltage would be my guess.

Many preamps, mine included, has an adjustment for sub-woofer output in its menu.....

I also have to set the front speakers to "small" to get the sub-woofer to work at all.....

The same preamp works with other subwoofers at the same volume with RCA in.
It's just this one I find with this much difference in line vs high level. :scratch2:

Since you've been swapping subs, could the RCA cable have gone bad?
