Subwoofer query

Hi I have just bought an Auna 501sw subwoofer and I'm pretty impressed. Only problem is that the controls are at the back. Is there something I can use to control this, I have it connected via twin RCA cables. I've seen some cheapish crossovers with 2 controls on Ebay, but not sure if they're any good. Cheers Phil

What do you want to control?
The freq./ vol. are set and forget (for the most part).
On/ off? Get a power strip with on/off button.
Not sure what "crossovers with 2 controls" you are referring to?

Thanks for the reply. I have it connected to my Panasonic SC-UA7 which has 2 audio out sockets, the sub sounds great but when I increase the volume on the Panasonic the sub volume stays the same. So I want something that I can increase the volume on the sub. Hope this makes sense. Phil

Yes, it does make sense but I'm afraid I have no answer for you. All subs that I am familiar with increase volume as the source volume increases.
Have you verified that connections are correct? What does the sub manual say about volume control?
You might want to contact the manufacturer(s).

I believe those audio outs are equal to tape outs. With no speaker level outs, I think you may not be able to make them work together.

Drumbum is correct. I took a quick look at the Panasonic manual and it appears the audio outs are only for connecting a 2nd SC-UA7 and volume must be adjusted separately for each unit.

I looked up your panasonic. It looks like a self contained speaker/amplifier in an obelisk configuration.

Is this your back panel?

If so, you're kinda screwed here. Those audio outputs appear to not be controlled by the volume control on the obelisk and your only other option would be to use the sub's speaker level inputs.

Since that panny doesn't have speaker level outputs, you're kinda stuck with what you have. Sadly, a lot of these "all in one" solutions don't lend themselves well to upgrades.

Thanks for the information everyone. Would it be possible to place one of these in between the Panasonic and the sub?

By the way yes that's the unit I have. It sounds great but I have to adjust the volume on the sub from the rear.

It appears you could set the crossover point with the "frequency" dial and the volume with the "gain" dial.
