Hello Audiophiles!
I am a newbie in Audiokarma and I would like to seek an advice for my HiFi problems. It's my old sugden a21a where it keep blowing the AC fuse. Fuse rating was 1.6A 250V slow blow.
Noticed that there is a fuse connected to the power supply and it doesn't blow. What did I managed to check is, whenever I switched on amplifier without connected to the power outlet, live and neutral seem have some resistance while no on live-earth/neutral-earth. It is normal or something wrong with the transformer?
I had checked on the primary, there's one film capacitor. Haven't check the capacitor (will do it later due to time constrain). There is about ~8ohm resistance on the primary windings (transformer still connected to main board) & ~2.5ohm/~1.5ohm on the secondary windings.
While on power supply, noticed that the big filter capacitor top cap is a little bit bulging.
Checked the diode,
Red (-), Black (+)
-+ 1.3
-~ 0.5
-~~ 0.5
Red (+), Black (-) I got 1 reading on multimeter in diode test mode.
Any advice on this issue. Appreciate with the help & advice before I send the amplifier to local technician.
