Suggestions for a (silver) CD player to match fluoroscan series?

Hi Folks,

I am currently in the birthing stages of building a series of Pioneer fluroscan components, only have the amp and tape deck so far, so a while to go but I need your help in terms of trying to find a silver CD player, hopefully with the same width as a pioneer SA-710 amplifier (420mm). I'd prefer a Pioneer but looking for something with a fascia that would blend in as well as possible for about £200?

Hope that helps and hope you guys can help.

Thanks in advance, TMR.

Pioneer PD-5010, display is illuminated in red though.

There's a yamaha or two in silver IIRC.

But if you're looking for a 70's "brushed aluminum" look, I think you're out of luck. By the time CD players became mainstream, the brushed aluminum look was gone. Replaced by silver plastic and/or paint.....

Probably about as close as you're going to get.....

Just a comment about the width of "non 19" rack" components-

I recently put my SX-727 into my 19" stereo rack with quite a bit of angling.
After it was in, I noticed that it would actually be 19" wide, and therefor slide right in if it didn't have the wood side panels.

Ergo- finding a nice silver CD player and then adding some wood side panels may solve that issue for the OP.

I'm not sure how wide flouroscan stuff is, and I do have back burner Sherwood S-9100 that is way too wide to slide in even if the sides were removed.

Check out the Sony DVP-NS575P. They've been around for quite a while (used), are VERY inexpensive, the silver plastic somewhat matches aluminum, width is consistent with most Pioneers, and they perform all the basic functions of a CD player. I have several and they've worked very well for many years.

I do have a JVC XL-V300 with brushed aluminum that is silver faced. It's clunky as heck and doesn't have a remote. I bought it on ebay as parts / repair only. There were a bunch of broken plastic parts inside. I fixed it up and it's still working today. It was built in 1984 and is a second generation CD player. I have not seen another silver XL-V300 come up for sale since. I have seen a black one but the price was quite high.
A thread about it here.. https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/finally-got-a-silver-cd-player.753233/

It'll cost you more than £200 though.

it's a dvd player but it serves as a cd player. i bought one to go with silver gear. it works.they are different models with the same face. if you want to use it for more than a cd player, some have hdmi, some don't. some are sacd, some aren't

i never examined it that closely, i actually thought it had an aluminum face until i bought a black one that i had to lube the mech and saw that it is a plastic face but the silver ones do look good. they are cheap too.

Pioneer DV 563A. It's silver and has a blue display. The blue is a light color and not as vivid as a fluroscan. It plays CDs and MP3 files.
