I have a Pioneer 65 watts a channel (two channels only) stereo receiver from 1990. I'd like to buy some new speakers for it. I listen mostly to rock. I also have a nice classical collection too. What kind of speakers should I buy? This is a stereo only receiver. I don't care for 'theater' sound systems. Do they still make tower speakers for stereo only receivers? Also what should the speakers be rated as far as wattage is concerned? The receiver is 8 ohms a channel.
