New to this forum and not much of an audiophile as compared to what I'm reading here. Obviously I enjoy music especially Donald and Walter. Was recently given a 2330 B which blows a fuse every time I insert one. I understand this is a pretty decent receiver and would like to repair it. Any suggestions where I can find a reputable repair shop in the Vegas area? Also any suggestions as to what speakers would pair nicely with this? I have a vintage set of JBL t20s right now. All responses and feedback greatly appreciated for this newby

Welcome to AK, Bill. That 2330 is a fine piece of vintage gear. Im certian once you get it going your going to fall in love and then well see lots of you are these parts!

Tom's advice on checking the outputs would be the first step here for most. They are very easy to test if you have a digital multi meter. There is a sticky in the solid state or diy forum here of AK. I'm not familiar with the 2330B but my next step would be to test the bridge rectifier out of circuit.

Good luck.

The 2330b has a plug in amp board.
You can unplug both 4 pin molex plugs to completely isolate it from the rest of the unit.
Try it again and if fuse holds then it's probably shorted output transistor(s) as Tom mentioned.
Not really a fan of checking it without a dbt but if you use a 2 or 3 amp agc fuse you'll be fine for this go / no go test.

Good advice from Bob! I could then fix it for you if you don't mind shipping the bad module to Az as I have a couple 2330B units at home right now.
