Just wanted to share my recent project with ya'll... this is my second of these...scored the whole Quad set up with the SP2500's and the SF 2's Omni-Radial's ..sold the SP2500's to a buddy to keep em in the family, rocked a party and they were AWSOME paired with a nice little yamaha Natural AMP and bookshelf;s.. I plan to pair this beast with a Set of Fisher's and ADS 520's in my lair..anyway here is the QRX

I have not had the QRX, but I have had a few QR-6500's. Nice receivers.

QRX has more surround decoder options. Just like the QRX-9001.

OP, nice Pioneer mixer! I always wanted one of those.

I've got a QRX-6500 awaiting dial stringing here. I got everything fixed on it and the cord let go. :smackshead:

Suggestion:

If you want to make the 6500 into killer audio.

Replace the 4 output caps with 10,000uf switching power supply caps.

Increase the big smoothing caps to 10-15,000uf each. In order to do this, you must change out the two bridge rectifiers. The little plastic ones in the 6500 will not handle the load of charging up big caps.

GUARNANTEED, the stock output caps are toast. They are probably so bad that you cannot even measure their capacitance. ESR will be very high, and leakage so bad that they will probably self discharge from a full charge in just a few minutes. replace them.
