I think it might be.

I dropped in my closest record store on the way home from work, not so much to shop as to wish them Happy New Year. This is what I came home with:

The diabolical owner passed this recent arrival to me, and there went my resolution to not buy any records until I had digested a more significant portion of my pre-Christmas record collection scores. :smoke:

I even paid his full retail. Oh well...:tresbon:

I know of course that it's not the original pressing. This is a fairly recent re-issue though I can't quite figure out when it came out. It's a German release, ACE CH 86.

I have another version of Live At The Regal and neither are pristine vinyl, so I won't feel bad if I don't play this one. The cover is near mint...except for the silly name someone scrawled on it! ;)

No I don't have a signed B.B King or any other artist for that matter.
Over 20 years ago, I made a mistake, buying a (supposedly) signed Janis Joplin's album, although I did'nt loose a fortune, loosing face while being caught in a scam, thought me a good lesson. I don't buy any signed what have you anymore, 99.9% is all crap anyway.

Now I realize that you already knew about the fake signature, I wasn't sure.
 
I have a few signed records and and the store just say signed if they mention it or not. They just sell them at a slitly higher cost over normal because they don't spend the money to authenticate it.

That said I have found a lot of them to be real and the above examples look to be the same to me.

My above example is, supposedly, the B.B King signature, although I've found other B.B King signature on the net that differ with my example.
That is why I don't look for signed anything anymore, not being a handwriting expert.

Not saying yours is not the real thing, but for me, unless the artist is in front of me, I'm not getting involved in this anymore.
 
I have but one signed copy of an album, an EP entitled Beware by The Misfits. It's signed by Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only. It happened @ a folding table where they were selling T's & copies of the EP following a performance @ a small venue in NYC, 1978 or 1979. I watched them sign it. I don't recall who the drummer was & Doyle (Jerry's brother) hadn't yet joined the band. The album cover is mostly black and they signed in black marker. No sparkly ink for those cats.

Yours was under a search of images BB KING signatures, the first image of yours sent me to that artical I poster the link to.

I just find signed records at the store and like I said they tend not to charge much if anything extra.
 
I'm not going to try hard to prove or disprove the authenticity of the signature on mine. From what I have seen online and the example above, it certainly looks pretty real to me. I didn't pay huge $$ for it and I didn't get it as an investment either so I'm happy.

I do have a couple of records that I know were signed by the artist as I was there. I had John Lee Hooker scrawl J L H on a ticket for me once too but that went missing a long time ago.

I never care about someones signature when I meet them. I look at it like hey their just doing a job that more people know of them than me. In the end that's all it is they're just doing what they do best and other people know them for that.
