Summer of Love 50th Anniversary Concert

I've waited 10 years for this after going to the 40th anniversary concert in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco in 2007. It was by far the best concert I have ever got too in my life and it's free. It's back and maybe for the last time. The original band members are getting old.

Here is a link with my impressions and photos from 2007. Even with a reported 100,000 people attending through out the day it was super mellow and fun. No alcohol. Now that recreational pot is legal in California, there is going be lot more love.

SAN FRANCISCO (Feb. 16, 2017) – Organizers of the San Francisco Summer of Love 50th Anniversary on Thursday will appeal the San Francisco Park and Recreation staff’s denial of a permit to present free public concerts in Golden Gate Park this June.

The 40th was actually mellow. People were respectful, cheerful and just enjoying themselves and the day.

I do have a feeling that it will be crazier this year.

It's on again. The City of San Francisco will throw the free concert. It's on a June 21, a Wednesday.
