I've secured this and sold! Thanks for the head's up. Now to arrange shipping.

And yes, that is the original JBL 2235H woofer in there, needs a surround replacement though, seller said it "is delicate".

Need any assistance of any kind Bart, let me know.

I didn't know this was anything desirable. That sub has been on CL for months and I've never thought twice about it...

Hey CB, thanks for the offer. Seller is able to hold for me until I get shipping arranged (UShip listing up right now). Hopefully, it won't take too long to get a good offer and get it over here, only 400 miles.

PS - Congrats on 21K+ posts!

Hi Marantzfan, yes, this sub is a quality unit, very much a JBL B380 subwoofer clone using the very stout JBL 2235H woofer, which is used in the JBL 4430, 4342/43, and updated L300's.

The seller also had the companion Sumo Delilah electronic crossover (Samson and Delilah) along with it, but no bites for quite a while, so he sold it on Ebay. I am thankful to Dankman for posting this, and with UShip options for shipping, going after stuff like this is possible. I shipped much larger IMF speakers from Houston TX and Davenport IA, and due to much lower gas prices, shipping costs are, to me, pretty reasonable.

Very nice capture!

I had a JBL B380 but I really like the look of the Sumo sub -
Missed a chance to get a pair of them recently -
the idea being to put a UREI on top of each one for a very nice pairing!
Tempting as it was, I really don't have that much room!

Nice catch. Those were out right around my high-end awakening. I recall drooling. A shame the crossover was split off from it.

Thanks! The crossover is a nice piece, and attracts a decent amount of attention. I have some options though, JBL electronic networks, Dahlquist DQ-LP1 crossovers, and some nice Yamaha F1040 3 way electronic networks, all of which work in a nice analog based system.

I still haven't gotten around to moving to digital networks, or room correction. Probably too old or too lazy to learn more. :D

I recently picked up an ADS C1500 for cheap. You could add it to your list. I hotrodded one years back and sonically it disappeared in the system. I intend to do the same to this one.

Mech986 hit the jackpot! A highly desirable sub that IMO is just as good as the JBL B-380 for a lot less even if the 2235H needs a new foam. Feed that Sampson with some very good big clean power like a Yamaha PC2002M and your all set. I believe Sumo also offered a crossover that you could add to the list.

Now I'll be able to sleep more soundly. I've only looked at that listing for several months toiling on how I could possibly pass that up ... It was definitely priced fairly.

Heh, read my mind. The sub was delivered today by Westam Transport, great service, 2 day turnaround from seller to my living room, well secured and protected. Tammy and Wes from Westam were great to deal with and I highly recommend them for anything you want to ship. They had an enclosed trailer/hauler loaded with other auto stuff, a motorcycle, some race car parts, and my speaker. Well done, another UShip success, my third so far. Only $110 + $25 UShip fee from Phoenix to LA, 400 miles.

Here's a pic of the sub in the living room in front of my other Sumo Samson (that my cats have attacked a bit) showing part of the JBL 2235H woofer and the Yamaha PC2002M driving the system, another lurks below for the sub, and another rack off camera has 3 more PC2002's waiting for duty.
