Sunvalley SV-Pre1616D DIY Build

Starting the build. I have put in "another" order from Parts Connexion...changing to 20-22AWG on the Silver hookup wire (18AWG is to thick). No issues with using this wire and Silver Solder.
I find the supplied wire is to thin(24/26 AWG), RCA jacks basic and selector switches standard. I will post the "Additional" cost of the parts at the end.

Finally an Update on the build. Completed the rear connections and had to re-order a Alps 100k volume pot (1st one had bent pins which I should have checked 1 month ago). I will be installing the Resistors and Films then last step Volume and Balance pot connections. Volume replacement (Wednesday)....Should be completed by Friday with Volt's check. I will be going over this competed build (like and dislikes on parts supplied) with prices on the Upgraded parts (which should be a Tier 2 Parts upgrade build).

Thanks....Digital Volume chips sound digital and adding this in a analog unit ..I will look for the link as it's easy to compare both. I purchased both units from Victor and he is very easy to work with.

The "digital" Muses chip is an analog attenuator, digitally controlled. Same as a pot or stepped attenuator except with lower distortion. :music:

We have Lift Off!!!...I did use a DBT on 1st power up with no issues. Using Pi4 with Volumio and will let it run 12hr sessions (100hrs at least). Right off the bat
what CLEAN sound and wide tone range. Very Happy on this build. Putting together a Upgrade parts list...Also the Sunvalley SV-EQ1616D Phono Stage has shipped (Thread will be created). Will follow-up
after 100hrs.

50hrs and starting to open up. I just got in PSVANE WE274B tube and will install after 100hr break-in. Going thru 12AU7's and will start tube rolling with BRIMAR CV4034 then BRIMAR CV4003. There are a few tubes I would like to try and will order
Tesla ECC802S, another set of BRIMAR CV4034 and GE 6189W.

After 200hrs going Strong.....Time to switch out 4.7uf Mundorf EVO Aluminum Oil to Mundorf Supreme. Sunvalley points to this location
for changing the sound profile. Right off the bat...Wider Sound Stage with Detail of the instruments. I had changed the tubes (100hrs) to Brimar with Socket Savers with Vibration Reduction Base. See you in 200hrs with the Supremes.

Hi, I am doing a similar build. Did you have to modify the frame to accomodate the alps? Seems like the hole for the spindle is too small and the anti spin hole does not match. Thanks

Yes, redrilled and I removed the anti-spin nub and no issues.
