"Super Compo" Series questions (B-55+ B-77)

I grew up with a Sansui "Super Compo" system as a kid in the early 80s, which had a label on the front that read "Linear A & DC Servo". After learning how to do some novice electronics work, I've re-capped a B-55 and B-77 and I've always been curious as to what that meant, is it a Class A amp with a direct coupled servo?

'Linear A' may refer to Class A capability - often for low power only, (if Vol is turned up it switches to class Ab), and some aspects of it could be described as 'Linear'. 'DC Servo' very many amplifiers have this but it has a nice ring to it that the marketing people seem to like - in short 'Marketing Nonsense' - sorry to disappoint you.

Marketing Nonsense makes perfect sense with this line of Sansui stuff ! It sounds decent but really on the inside is nowhere near the quality of their other products.
