super low budget drivers for jbl 4530 scoop bins

Hi there, I'm looking for opinions between using an eminence gamma 15a2, vs a dayton audio pa380-8 in a jbl 4530 cabinet. I know they're not 2205s, but they seem close to what you want for ts specs in a scoop cabinet, and they're $100 ea, which I can actually afford- they will be crossed over 3rd order at 1600hz, with a 2" compression driver up top, and powered by less than 100 watts a side in my basement- any opinions, or suggestions would be great- thanks, Darcy

I would go for the real thing, JBL's!. Get a pair on the Bay even if they need recones. I went that way, got used compatible baskets
and re-coned them myself using OEM JBL cones and i am not looking back!. (I have 2225's).

I would like info on the drivers i posted about, i am in Canada, and shipping 15" jbls here from ebay costs as much as buying them, so thats not an option- the speakers i listed in my original post are what i have to choose from locally-

I understand about the shipping thing.

I would pick the daytons. Looking at the specs they look like a beefier woofer. They have a lower Fs and higher xmax than the eminence woofer

Thanks, that's the way I was leaning on it- they're no JBL, but have similar ts values, well, closer than the eminence anyway-

You may be able to find newer (used) JBL pro woofers (2032? 2035?) that would do the job at a reasonable price. As always, it takes a little luck (and looking up what drivers are in which cabs) to get a good deal on used gear. Christmas is coming and someone out there needs to dump some PA gear to pay bills.
