Superb service!

G'day all, today I took a trip to our nearest city to do a spot of 'retail therapy' aka shopping (Christmas and otherwise), and whilst doing it I encountered some rare (to me) superb shop service from a local business.

I went in to buy some drinking glasses to replace some that have been dropped and accidentally broken over recent months and I found exactly what I was after.

Not only that, but the woman staff member who attended to me was extremely helpful and courteous and did not sell me the most expensive item available, just what I needed.

It was absolutely superlative service. That sort of service quality is unfortunately rare in Australia now, at least in my personal experience. It was wonderful to experience actually. Regards, Felix aka catman.

I know what you mean Felix, I have been in the service industry for most of my life, so I am highly attuned to it. Having received good service on a number of occasions, I have made sure the people concerned were noticed by their managers.

I agree it is a very pleasurable experience when it happens, always makes me want to go back and experience some more - if ONLY people realised the effect can have. Sadly, good customer service is not always recognised by those in receipt of it and thus it is not perceived in some quarters as worthwhile to foster, and train people for it :sigh:

G'day mate, yes you're so right. When I got home I left a nice comment on their website praising the staff member who attended to me. Regards, Felix aka catman.

i have a simple rule if a business gives me exceptional service they get a customer for life , as well as ill seek out an employe's supervisor(as in say in retail) and let them know i was treated well.
and if bad service i never will return .

That's the kind of postitive feedback we use at employee meetings. :thmbsp:

A month or so ago I forgot to put the trash cans out on trash day. I heard the truck go by and raced down to the garage and dragged the cans outside. The truck had almost disappeared over the hill 2 blocks away but I waved my arms anyway. Someone on the truck saw me, they did a three point turn in the big old truck, and came back. On top of that, the guy on the back apologized to me, saying that he should have jumped down and rang my doorbell. I went back inside and immediately called the company. I think the woman I spoke with was shocked that I was calling with a compliment, as even though I started out by saying that I was NOT calling to complain but rather to say thanks she asked me twice what the problem was. I finally got through to her what I was doing and then SHE apologized and thanked me profusely. I get ads offering lower prices from competing trash companies all the times but this one will keep my business.
