Superlative "on the fly" Two Hour Headphone Tube Amplifier Build

Greetings AK'ers,


This headphone amplifier was assembled in less than two hours and sounds mighty sweet to my ears.
The simplest of simple OTL circuit designs that I could come up with; using four "6H8C" 1960's (old stock)
Soviet Military Tubes, one old but sufficient power transformer, a modicum of caps & resistors; plus
all of the other usual suspects (parts) that one would use for building a device such as this audio gizmo.
Additionally: a multipole three-way switch, extra inputs would turn this unit into a nice preamp control hub.

About the schematics……
The 6CG7 9 pin noval is basically the same (similar) tube as the (6SN7) 6H8C octal base
tube that I used for the build.

I wanted to try to built something Quick & Quite different this time around. The build was
a spur of the moment gift for a friend, which I surprised her with on the night of the day
that I posted this thread.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a schematic in mind.

However…...
the build stems from reading this article http://www.tubecad.com/2010/02/blog0181.htm
and referring to their other documents like the all-in-one Aikido stereo 9 pin PCB user
guide and skimmed through some of their other guides that got me started. With many
components at hand, gleaned info from said article, with a few value changes to the PS &
amp circuit, I laid out the components and got busy, like I already mentioned about having
all the right stuff, I was able to quickly assemble (in less than two hours) the amp on top
of & into an old clunky cigar humidor lid; and kept it even simpler with (SS rectification).

(one might learn how to build this project; that's hand-built, point to point assembly (no PCB)
by reading carefully and thoroughly through the articles mentioned above.)

I usually don't take documentation photos of a particular project or build (just a few after
shots).

So if I remember, the next time I'm at Carol's house; I will bring my Kodak and take some
detailed pictures. I will also try to draw out a schematic with a parts list if some one will
wrestle me down to the ground and twist my arm till I slap the mat.

Also like I had previously mentioned. "sounds mighty sweet to my ears".

Who knows, you just might want to build it on the PCB instead of a scratch build?.
