Surrounds for Altec 406-8Y

Hi ,
Have a pair of Altec 406-8Y, that need new surrounds. Any one know where I could get cloth surrounds for them. Waiting for Great Plains Audio to reply.

Didn't realize that original replacement parts came as kits i.e. surround + cone + spider. GPA does not have any. So looks like I have to either get the closest cloth surround or an aftermarket foam surround. Have asked around and awaiting for replies.

Any opinions/experiences on using after market surrounds on the 406? The 425 looks really close.

I use to combine the 406 with EV- t-35 or T- 350 to make 2 way small monitors. The sounded great. You might try Orange County speakers in California. They might be able to fix you up with something. maybe there's a pair of JBL cones out there you can steal the surrounds off of.
