Surrounds on Advent 3

I picked up a pair of Advent 3s at the SA thrift for $8.25. I really like the sound. Looking at the drivers, it looked almost like the surrounds had been put in backwards. The surrounds were black, kind of shiny, and looked more like rubber than foam. Is this normal for Advent surrounds?

I wouldn't think so but my New Large Advents (A3's) have "outward" surrounds versus inward. Man, I'd love to find another pair for that kind of price so I could tinker with stacking!

D-Ray:
I had a pair of Advent /3's (and still have one orphan) and the surrounds were exactly as you describe. They're made of butyl, I believe. If you're very gentle when you touch them, you should find they feel a bit sticky.
