I saw these components listed yesterday afternoon, sold with BIN shortly after, all to the same person. Kenwood L-09M's, L-07T and L-07CII. The price on the amps seems pretty good, the others may have been a bit high, but whomever bought these is in for a treat. Just wondering if an AKer happened to nab em.

A very nice series that Kenwood offered. I see the amps listed most frequently, followed by the preamps and tuners offered the least. The only distraction I see in this particular offering is the mixing of a series II preamp with a series one tuner. If you look closely you will notice that the rack mounting holes for the preamp are simple holes and the tuner it is open slot mounting holes.

I own the L-07T II tuner and it is a very high grade tuner with a 7 gang front end and two IF bandwith filters. It's very sensitive and a delight to use. I do need to get inside it someday and repace a couple of panel lamps.

That surprises me, because I have very rarely seen the L-09's offered for sale, but have seen many more of the L-07 amps, preamps and tuners available. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. Regardless, they are all awesome pieces. Do you know if there was ever a L-09MII? I have never heard of one, but most of the other L series gear had a Mk II.

Well I meant that I see L-0X amps (of all models) listed more then the other componets. As far as I have seen watching listings for several years, I don't think they badged any amps as series II, just the preamp and tuner... I thought long and hard about obtaining a preamp from this series, but the prices always seemed to bid up higher then I wanted to spend. Spent $225 for the tuner several years back on e-bay. I sense scored two Kenwood basic C-2 preamps and think they are a very nice and cost effective preamp.

No L-09MII was ever built...the L-05M and L-07MII were the only two built in black to match the L-07CII and L-07TII

Nice info. I always thought the design of the L series amps were pretty cool in that you could mount the amps away from the other componets for a much cleaner and smaller footprint. I think the amps had a remote on/off feature to help make that happen. I always thought it would be cool to have the amps placed behind the main speakers and run RCA cables instead of speaker cables.

If one is not into flashing lights and bouncing meters, the Kenwood L series is probably one of the nicest component systems of the era, at least IMO Very elegent :yes:

For those that like flash and bounce, I can certainly recommend a KR-9600 receiver, it won't disappoint. :no:
