Sx 1010 3 lead capacitor replacement?

Hi all!
I'm looking over that pesky, well-cooked power supply board (AWR-054 C in my SX-1010) and am considering taking that plunge to replace those swollen caps (and of course all the rest of them while at it)
I'm noticing that the original big 35V 1000uF (x2) and the 80V 470uF (x1) caps have 3 leads. Can they be replaced with the 2 lead variety that I currently have stock of?
I've been reading the plethora of SX 1010 recap stories over the last two days, and didn't come across this particular issue.
A little Internet research gave conflicting info on this form type, from "the 3rd lead is a ground" to the "3 lead is there for support only" due to being a larger can.
Any superb AK wisdom to share?
(I put this in DIY forum, but if it's better served in the Pioneer forum feel free to move it, or give me instructions on how to move it my self and I'll happily comply)

Yes they can. The third pin of the OEM part probably wasn't used for anything but part stability.

Well,
I'll call it a tentative win for the good guys!
Brought her up to power on a DBT successfully, then crossed fingers, and powered her up for reals..
No smoke, no bang, no flash, no fire, no tears!
Stable power, stable output, good sound and way more volume. (One of the 63V 100uF caps was toast when I tested for fun, I'm guessing that may have been keeping her volume somewhat limited?)
Anyways, thank you, thank you, thank you!
It's late, I'll run her through more paces tomorrow.
