Sx-1010 am antenna mount

I have a nice SX-1010 that has a spit/broken antenna mount, and all i did was move the antenna around on its ball joint slightly and it broke.,and a friend of mine has the same problem, I have been talking with a plastics company locally about making or trying to make a couple of new ones, but before i start this i thought i would check and see if anyone else has has success or maybe already makes these?, I know it would be better to have many made at one time..
thanks

Like EW said, these things break all the time. Antennas pop up on ebay every once in a while. Two are listed as of this posting. Whether or not they're compatable across model lines I don't know and would have to be verified in the service manual first. If you do end up getting replacements made, please let us know. I might take a few.

I had the same problem with my SX-1050, what I did was use contact cement and glued the broken piece back on, and let it dry over night. Works for me. :)

The SX-1010 is a little different than the others, the antenna bar has a steel ball that it is attached to and it sits in a "socket" so that it swivels in all directions, there is also a large spring that puts pressure on the ball, so i can't see glue holding up..even the SX-939 has a totally different antenna that only flips up or down.
I just didn't want to start to get something made that someone already has tried or done..i will know more next week once i drop off the old mount to them..
