SX 1010 faceplate glass replacement needed!

Hey guys,
had an unfortunate accident with the glass faceplate on my sx-1010. I need to replace it, and I've been checking eBay for months with no luck. Does anyone know if anyone's making reproductions that I can buy, or anywhere else to look for a donor from an old broken unit?

On eBay, AK'er hemi426 is "colormesound"

you will probably end up with acrylic or lexan - there are some VERY difficult cuts that weaken the glass.

whatever you do save the broken one to prevent further damage. a accurate pattern will save you much trouble. i made one for a 939. all i had was a cordless drill and some chinese drills and i managed to pull it off out of glass. its definitely a learning experience and because of the 3 holes not the easiest to do,but some slight errors are hidden by the plastic bushings for the buttons and tuning knob. you have an advantage if you have a drill press. you might want to visit a few glass shops and ask around,as some folks have successfully had them made in other threads on this subject
