I am wondering if anyone has used a Bipolar cap of 10uf instead of the back to back Tants for C25 22uf and C30 22uf.

I have been using the 2 22uf UKLs here but I was wondering if 1 10uf UES would be a better choice.

The same question on the AWG-042 Flat Amp for C9 C11 and C10 C12

I never saw that but it makes sense now.
I would keep it OEM unless you want to get it going and all you have is the BP's :dunno:

It is interesting to me to try and understand why they would from a design point of view use two tants instead of a single bipolar in this circuit what made them choose to use the CSZA type?
 
I have read member "leestereo"? suggest to use a good BP instead of two back to back polarized lytics!
I myself have never done the comparison. Try it out, let us know what you think.
Sansui even put small films in parallel (47-100nF) with back to back ecaps in many designs.
 
I am doing a recap and refresh on this unit for another Aker so it is not mine....
I did plan on using the Nichicon Muse UES series cap if I went thru with this modification.
The leakage current of a tant is speced at .002CV in the tuning fork articles.
What happens to leakage current when capacitors are wired in series?

The Nichicon UES series has a .03CV rating
The Nichicon UKL Series has a .002CV rating
 
I assume leakage current would reduce, how much, I do not know. I guess by 1/2 the spec.
The leakage for Elna Silmic's is about the same as the UES.
MTF swears by UKL, so I would go with what he and others have proven to be effective.

FPCAP R7 series has a leakage of 54uA for a 68u/16V, ESR 7mohm ecap. The new technology.
These work great for the ecap in the P/A feedback loop and for AC coupling.
 
Tant's come out, one position gets a wire jumper, and a Nichicon UEP cap goes in the other position.
