sx-1250 front boards & disassembly

Ok, easy boards done so I moved to the front. Got some questions and contrary to my usual approach I'm open to advice. Id rather get some advice from someone that been down this road rather than screw up this beautiful machine. ( and waste a whole lot of time).

1. do the lever type switches stay on the board and just get deoxit in that state or ismoval the way to go ( please say no).
2. The board with the function pushbutton switches, I'm having trouble backing it far enough away from the front plate to clear the pushbutton extensions with springs on em. Is there a trick? Those switches are intermittent and noisy so they need a lot of attention. looking for advice on disassembly and cleaning as well.
3 can I assume I don't want to unstring the tuning mechanism or is that SOP.

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I get deeper.
any advice welcome

Ni id didn't take wires out of standees - that was going to me my next step in the morning if no one gave me better advice - i guess its just a bitch..

if I remember I used the eraser end of a pencil to push the buttons in just that 1/8 in. to get them thru the back side of the chassis

P.S. used to ski at hunter 3 or 4 times a year back in the day
Thanks for the technique and that a hell of a trip from Florida but in my backyard

I guess Im resigned to the fact that these front boards are goint to take some TLC. Id respect your input on the snap switches lever type - do I just clean them with Deoxit and change the recommended components and move on
