SX-1250 Loudness & EQ

Hello AK,

I have a professionally serviced SX-1250 running a pair of JBL 4670s… Is there any danger of damaging the amp by running both loudness and the eq at the same time, even at high volume? I do like it loud.

Sources: Pioneer 530 turntable and WiiM Ultra.

I don't think you can damage the amp but you might hear distortion at loud volumes with the loudness and tone controls turned up.

.if you keep the boosting on the eq to a minimum, you will be fine.

If you hear distortion turn it down and make adjustments.

Im not familiar with the 1250 but most loudness circuits are disabled beyond 12o clock on the volume knob regardless of how much power is being pushed.

Do not think you will damage the amp if it’s run at a reasonable
level
They are 4-ohm speakers that say they can handle lots of power, 600W of music.

Hello All, I'm thinking to buy JBL Pro Cinema speakers: 4670D model. Does anybody know if this is passive speaker (with embedded crossover)? Or to be used with digital x-over? Thanks for info!

I haven’t used tone controls and loudness since the invention of the CD. I used them for vinyl however.
