SX-1250 power outputs?

I've just recently finished rebuilding my SX-1250 including all capacitors, transistors, relays etc, with the exception of the filter caps and power outputs.

I am currently looking to replace the filter caps, and I would like to ask
if I can expect an improvement in performance by installing new modern outputs (MJ21193G & MJ21194G), or is this just a reliability issue?

I notice the new outputs are 250w as opposed to the 200w factory outputs.
Will this actually increase the power output of the 1250, or is there more to it?

If there is nothing wrong with the original outputs....then don't change them. The original outputs are pretty darn good and solid.

I don't think the receiver will become more powerful with the new outputs. It is more a factor of HOW the amplifier topology is made.

I have a 1250 that is fully re-capped.......but the outputs are original...and it performs astounding well. It is used almost every day for extended periods of time and has GREAT sound(to me!). Mine developed a 'crackly' noise in the right channel a short while ago,....and I will fix it soon. That is another amazing thing about the 1250...it is (normally) easy to fix. Enjoy.

The original outputs are great, but I plan on buying new outputs to have in stock, and I'm not sure if I should purchase new, or look for factory originals.

i would grab the ones that EW recommends and store them for protection against replacements being discontinued

Well, I guess I'll leave the stock outputs in place and purchase new one's to put on the shelf.

The only thing left is the filter caps, which have small nipples protruding from the bottom. Looks like the beginning of the end for these caps.

If anyone has found a good source for replacement, for a decent price, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

I realize these sources come and go quickly.

Yes by all means replace the large filter caps.
Echowars replaced them in my 1250 but I forgot what he used ---Maybe he will chime back in.

Hi guys...Thanks for the input.

Well I have the thermal compound and insulators for the outputs already.
so I guess I'll leave the factory outputs in pace, and when I make my next mouser order, I'll get some 1193 & 1194's for back up.

Thermal Paste

What Termal past do you recommend? I noticed there are two types, conducting and non-conducting.
Is it the same stuff used on CPU heats inks, like Artic Silver?

NOT conductive for sure .. i don't care what the pc stuff says i stay well clear of it . just use the stuff for the job . i use paste what you cant get there so wont even mention it
