I have recently purchased 2 SX-1280s or I would of definitely bought this one, Hell I still might, my right forefinger came pretty close to hitting that mouse button!!! :yes:

I just noticed where the 1280 pulls 480 watts looking at the rear panel for it's UL rating when the 1250 draws 640 watts IIRC. . . I know Pioneer made some cost cuts in the 80 series from the 50s but I had no idea. . . I still dont know what if anything it means. . .maybe the 1280 is more effecient. . .???

According to the brochures I have, the SX-1250's maximum power consumption (not UL) is listed at 1200 watts. The SX-1280 is down a tad at 1000 watts.

The output transistors used in the SX-1280 are different from the conventional TO-3's used in the earlier model. So it indeed appears the design is more efficient.

My 1280 runs cooler than my 1250!!
