I'm sure it's worth it, just no one has posted a list yet!

If you can get a copy of the service manual, it will have a list of the Pioneer numbers for the capacitors. Stare and compare the parts on the list to what is in your unit. (If you find any differences please note them and the board number they are on) Then, take the adjusted list and search this forum with each part number to cross reference the part with a recommended replacement. Soon enough, you will have your pending parts list!

Post the board number, with the Pioneer part number and capacitor rating, along with the numbers you cross referenced, and the experts will vet it for you, when they have the time! The recommended format is as follows:
AWR-100 C1 470 10v CEA 470 16 647-UPW1E471MPD

That line breaks down as such:
AWR-100 is the board number
C1 is the capacitor location number from the service manual
470 10v is the service manual capacitance and voltage rating of the part
CEA is the Pioneer code for the type of capacitor
470 16 is the replacement part capacitance and voltage rating
647-UPW1E471MPD is the Nichicon part number with a Mouser prefix (647) that denotes the manufacturer (Nichicon)

Mark The Fixer's general rules for cap selection from an older post of his:
"Cap rules of thumb (nichicon)

I use upw, uhe for general caps including signal coupling in that order depending upon stock "cea"
I use ues, uep & uvp in that order for bipolar depending on stock
I use ukl for low leakage caps (in sensitive areas they reduce the noise floor)"ceanl", "cssa", "csza"
0.1uf to 2 uf I use stacked film where they fit: DFS and ECQ

solid aluminum and tantalum caps get stacked film when possible, or ukl's otherwise. "cssa" "csza"

c?B means it's an axial cap = one lead on each end
c?a = radial = both leads on one end

searching at mouser:

easy..... need a 100uf cap? search on: 100uf UPW

then find your voltage and if stocked / in stock and possibly a size choice. go UP in voltage if your voltage is not available.

voila....

sub uhe, ukl, dfs, ecq etc for upw for the different type..."

Much more can be learned by reading the Tuning Fork series on Capacitors, available as a "Sticky" at the top of this forum, here's a link to the Sticky:

The transistors and diodes Pioneer used may or may not have some troublesome part numbers in the SX-3700. The specs needed in a replacement for a diode or transistor are sometimes dependent on what circuit they are in. So you may find multiple replacement choices when you cross reference them using the search function. There again, check what is in your unit vs. the service manual, note any differences, post a preliminary list with any cross referenced part/s you find. It may take a bit longer for the experts to chime in with the recommended substitutes, if any are needed in the SX-3700, as study of the circuit may be necessary to choose the correct replacement.

When you are done, the list should look something like Mark's recent list for the SX-737:

Hope this helps!

P.S. If you ever do come up with a vetted list, please post it and I will add it to the recap lists thread I started! :thmbsp:
